Dredge measuring winch

The depths of smaller rivers, lakes and harbours must be measured before the ships of Royal IHC can dredge. The weight of the measuring probe is low so a brake on the winch is not needed. The measuring is done on board of a sand hopper work ship that’s why the construction needs to be robust and rust free. Four winches are used per IHC work ship.

The robust stainless steel winch has a large drum diameter and the direct drive which makes it possible to perform measuring operations in a short time with a counter weight through a gauge tube.
