One of the largest steel manufacturers in the world uses our low-speed electric winches to control large input and output screens for its “flue gas recirculation” installation. By controlling these screens, a higher flue gas flow rate can be circulated because more negative pressure can be created behind the screens.

A low speed is needed to operate the screens very accurately since abrupt movements can affect the process, which is why the winch is equipped with a grooved drum with a pressure roller. There is also an encoder on this winch that ensures that the operator is aware of the position of the screens.
