Projects
Winches are being used in many industries. Meanwhile we have done a lot projects with our partners. Projects that we have provided with one of our standard winches, but also projects which required a custom winch. On this page you can read more about the projects we have proudly completed.
Changing operation from electric to manual
With the recent shift to a more sustainable world, among others the infrastructure sector is faced with the challenge of adapting existing systems to realise this shift. In the province of Zuid-Holland in the Netherlands the operation of a drawbridge was changed from electric to manual using a gearbox with load pressure break from Gebuwin.
Hydrocarbon tank inspection
Periodic inspection of hydrocarbon tanks is subject to a variety of regulatory requirements. Conventionally, all kinds of things had to be done to enter the tanks safely and the traditional way of tank inspections had a number of problems. Using Gebuwin’s hand winches, a robot was developed to provide a solution to this complicated process.
Tidal flat valves on the Thames River
Winches at Horseshoe Corner on the River Thames operate vital tidal flat valves, preventing upstream tidal flow. Annual maintenance is facilitated by Gebuwin Marine winches, with recent upgrades enhancing durability and performance.
Handling large and heavy cages in a fish farm
The Norwegian aquaculture industry is constantly expanding and requires quality equipment. An occupation on these fish farms is handling the large enclosures, which serve as breeding grounds for the fish. The winches are used to pull the cages out of the water, facilitating maintenance tasks and oth er necessary activities. .
Offshore windmill park
For example, Gebuwin’s hand winches are used in the assembly of wind turbines. The winches hold the blades of the turbines, which are placed by ships in the North Sea, in position.
Supply market
A second example is in the supply market for the maritime industry. It is of great importance that cargo is loaded into and out of ships as quickly as possible, because time in ports is precious.
Locks
A third example is the use of our marine hand winches to lift locks at large filters for cleaning at a refinery in the port of Rotterdam.
Dry bulk handling
When material is allowed to free fall uncontrolled, it accelerates, and as the velocity increases dust particles within the material separate and are ejected by the fast moving air-stream created.
Custom davit crane
Many regional water authorities or water companies use pumps in wells that already have a cable attached to the pump. It is therefore important that the pump can be lifted out of the well with the current cable.
Theatre winch for lifting art in shops
In a large department store, works of art are hung above an escalator. People are standing on the escalator under this presentation, so safety is very important.
Coal transporting system
In the mining industry, safety and efficiency are critical factors in transporting coal from one location to another. An electric winch, also known as a cable winch, is an essential component of a coal transporting system.
Lifting flare system 100M in ATEX environment
Flare systems are essential for safety on oil and gas extraction sites because they help prevent toxic gases from entering the atmosphere.
Mobile conveyor belt system
Gebuwin’s winch is used as an essential part of a mobile conveyor to remove various crops, such as potatoes, onions or carrots, from the land.
Custom Military winch
The defense machine builder had a specific requirement for a quick release mechanism for the winch drum under load. This functionality was necessary to fine-tune a military installation.
Custom MRI Scan winch
Our customer has expressed the need for a medical winch that can safely and efficiently lower a magnet from a medical scanning machine for maintenance purposes.
Custom Camera winch
The Netherlands is currently undergoing active development of remote-controlled bridges and locks. To ensure the proper functioning of the entire system, it is essential to have effective remote viewing capabilities of these bridges and locks.
Maritime Gangway
In the world of maritime operations, safety and efficiency are paramount. For our client, these principles needed to be upheld in the operation of a gangway – a critical passageway facilitating boarding, disembarking, and maintenance activities on their vessels. The challenge? A winch resistant to seawater corrosion and ATEX Zone 2 certified. Gebuwin provided the solution with our stainless steel worm gear hand winch.
French Fries Packaging
A producer of french fries, is using one of our winches to streamline their production process. Our winches play a key role in the packaging process of the french fries, ensuring efficiency and safety in the workplace.
Support for Hydrographic Surveys
In the world of hydrographic surveys, where the secrets of the seabed are revealed, a leading marine survey company found a reliable ally in Gebuwin. The challenge? Deploying survey equipment from a small survey vessel in a seawater environment. The solution? Gebuwin’s stainless steel davits.
