Changing operation from electric to manual
With a growing demand of future-proof solutions, IDengineering implemented one of our TL1500 gearboxes with load pressure break to change the way of operating a drawbridge from electric to manual.
Changing operation from electric to manual
With the recent shift to a more sustainable world, among others the infrastructure sector is faced with the challenge of adapting existing systems to realise this shift. In the province of Zuid-Holland in the Netherlands the operation of a drawbridge was changed from electric to manual. This way the province was contributing to reaching its sustainability goals. In the pictures underneath you can see the implementation of our TL1500 gearbox with load pressure brake.
The existing bridge, with an electric drive, had become increasingly susceptible to failure over the years. Maintenance costs were rising and the dependency on energy sources no longer matched the province’s sustainability goals. In the video underneath an animation is shown of the bridge being manually opened and closed.
