Water Sector industry
Gebuwin has a modern designed foldable lifting davit crane. It has been developed for water purification plants and water production companies. This swivel davit crane helps you to carry out your work efficiently without the risk of physical strain.
Lowering and lifting using Gebuwin’s Swivel Davit Crane and winches
At sewage treatment plants and production sites, there are many places where loads such as pumps have to be lowered and lifted. For this reason there are a lot of hand winches and hoisting davit cranes required. Gebuwin has developed a number of lifting davit cranes especially for this application. The goal was to develop a davit crane in such a way that it is easy to move, given the many positions where a load has to be lifted. The davit crane is lightweight and is therefore ready for use within a few seconds thanks to the folding system of the boom. When te davit crane is placed in the accompanying davit socket, it can rotate 360 degrees.
Gebuwin offers three types of lifting davit cranes, with a hoisting capacity of 500 kg, 250 kg and 125 kg and reaches of 60, 80 and 100 cm. The Swivel Davit Crane can be used in many different hoisting situations because the crane is fully portable. Because of the integrated winch and cable, the davit is not only compact but also low in maintenance. The crank is also adjustable in length so that the hoisting speed can be adjusted. There are various davit sockets available.

Explore a detailed showcase of our products through real examples. With in-depth descriptions and accompanying images, we provide a clear view of how our products are used within each specific industry.
Water treatment plant
Our davit cranes are widely used in industrial environments, particularly within water treatment plants. These facilities demand reliable, robust and flexible solutions for safely and efficiently lifting and moving heavy equipment. Our davit cranes are designed with these demanding conditions in mind. The stainless steel davit crane can easily lower and lift the pumps in and out of the treatment basins.
With the use of our specially designed wall sockets, the davit crane can safely and securely be installed against the wall. These wall sockets provide a stable base and are engineered to withstand corrosion, which is especially important in this case as it involves water. Our davit cranes provide an ideal combination of safety, convenience and durability.
Clean Sea Solutions
Clean Sea Solutions is a company that is in the process of developing the best solutions to catch the big amounts of pollution in ports all over the world. One of the resources the company uses to do this is the Aquapod. The Aquapod is an active collection system for marine pollution an it is being used at the Leuvehaven(Harbor) in Rotterdam.
To give the operator of the Aquapod a hand, a SD250 davit crane from Gebuwin was installed on the Aquapod. This makes it easy to lift the big-bags from the Aquapod, which allows the operator to work a lot more efficiently. Nice to see that Gebuwin’s davit crane can contribute to the process for a cleaner world!
Camera winch
The remote control of bridges and locks is currently under development in the Netherlands. The bridges and/or locks must be able to be visually monitored from a distance in order to operate them properly. For this purpose several masts with cameras are installed at the relevant bridge or lock.
Operating locks
The Lippenbroek in Hamme is a marvel of science, and at least as much of nature. This 10-hectare area is a test area for the Sigma Plan, which creates controlled floodplains around the river Scheldt.
Scientists have been studying the operation of a tidal flood plain since 2006, using locks that must be able to open and close at certain times. Winches, WW1500, from Gebuwin are used to operate these locks.
Hydrographic research support
In the precise world of hydrographic surveys, where the seafloor’s secrets are unveiled, a leading marine research company found a reliable ally in Gebuwin. The challenge? Deploying research equipment from a small survey ship in a seawater environment. The solution? Gebuwin’s stainless steel davits.
Lifting sewage pumps
For this project of a customer, a total of 14 zinc-plated davit cranes with a lifting capacity of 250 kg were installed. These davit cranes are specifically intended for lifting sewage pumps from the smaller pumping stations in Rotterdam.
To improve mobility, additional handles have been added to the davit cranes. These pumps are periodically lifted for maintenance or in case of failures, such as caused by unsuitable pollutants in the sewers.
Walkway above weir
One of our customers, got tasked with building a walkway on top of a past moving 90 meter wide weir. The load on this 90 meter wide walkway is estimated at 6 tonnes. The construction requires mooring rope and two Gebuwin winches to hold te walkway. Our customer needed two of our 4 ton, WW4000, winches in order to do this.
Lifting a non visible object
Lifting an object that’s not visible, Gebuwin has the perfect solution for all handwinches. Introducing a revolution counter for all hand winches. This revolution counter makes it possible for the user to identify the right height of the load. When preparing the winch, WW1000 for use, it is only necessary to determine the number of revolutions required to lift a certain number of metres.
Tidal flat valves on the Thames River
Winches at Horseshoe Corner on the River Thames operate vital tidal flat valves, preventing upstream tidal flow. Annual maintenance is facilitated by Gebuwin Marine winches, with recent upgrades enhancing durability and performance.
Constructing a water dam
For the construction of a water dam, two carts are being used to ensure that the large concrete parts are being moved to the correct position. One cart weighs about 6000 kg and the speed at which the cart must be moved is very precise.
To move these two carts on a 30° slope, two Gebuwin e-winches are being used. For this specific case a variable speed was required so therefore we use a frequency switch. The e-Winch series really belongs to Gebuwin’s eye catchers.
